Spring and Easter Display

by katie

I love pretty, bright colors for spring and I always start off my spring decorating with a little bit of Easter. This year, I wanted something big for my coffee table since my living room is the first thing people walk into when visiting my home.

I started off by visiting my local thrift store for a basket that would work great in my centerpiece. I found this one and lightly painted it white so that some of the original wood color would come through.

After allowing it to dry, I filled it with boxwood garland. Since there was a good amount left over, I decided to wrap it around the outside. It reminds me of a nest in a way, doesn’t it?

I used a piece of white burlap for the runner as well as a piece of light green to accent the middle. This was simply to add a pop of color.

Inside of each apothecary jar, I added a few different things. One holds a ceramic rabbit sitting on raffia, one is filled with moss stones and the last one is filled with baker’s twine-wrapped plastic eggs. I made these myself using a tutorial on Pinterest and I could only get 3 done because it took up so much time, but they came out so fun and colorful. It was the perfect thing to add.

I used a chalkboard to write a simple message and although I desperately need to brush up on my chalkboard skills, I think it conveys my message. At least my handwriting isn’t the worst in the world and those tulips came out pretty snazzy. ?

All of the decorating items used in this fun little project came from Oriental Trading. I have been working with them for quite a few posts already and I have yet to be disappointed with any of their products. Everything I’ve received as been great quality and something I can use in other projects as well!

I highly recommend shopping with them! Don’t forget to check out everything they have to offer for Easter! They have great basket fillers and fun party supplies, too!

My Shopping List:

Glass Jar Apothecary Set
Boxwood Garland
White Burlap Roll
Lime Green Burlap Roll
Chalk Tub

Quick Note: Because I have so much of the lime green burlap left, I decided to make a fun spring wreath for my front door. I have a great little tutorial to share with you so keep a look out for it! ?
