Spooktacular Halloween Party Ideas

by The Organized Dream

Every year we have a Halloween party for the kids. We’ve done so many different things throughout the years, but these are the top in the list of things we’ve tried and will try this year!

Mummy Dogs

For the past three years I’ve done the mummy dogs you’ve seen everywhere. They are the life of the party and are gone in less than 5 minutes! If you’re looking for something kids and adults will like, this is the recipe for you! Simply wrap a package of hot dogs in crescent roll dough, bake according to the packaging and you’ll have a great finger food everyone will love!

Meatball Eyeballs

This involves taking your average meatball and giving it a creepy twist. Simply add a slice of pimento olive to your run-of-the-mill meatball and you have an eyeball everyone will love to devour.

Bobbing for Apples

Among the top of the list for things to do in the Fall involves bobbing for apples. Whether you have 5 kids or 20 kids participating, you’ll want to incorporate this into your Halloween party. It’s also the most simple. Dump a bag full of apples into a tub of water and they’ll have a ball trying to snag an apple of their own.

The Guessing Game

For the older crowd, have your guests sit in a circle and pass around the ‘grossest’ of ingredients such as boiled eggs for eyes and spaghetti for intestines. Try cauliflower for brains and Jello for all the other mushy stuff! The possibilities are endless!

Arts & Crafts

There is always something fun to make and Halloween provides a great theme for an arts & crafts table. Have a photo printer at home? You can have a photo backdrop and take pictures of everyone in their costumes. Afterwards, they can create their own keepsake photo frame. This will also double as their party favor, too! Not sure where to buy the supplies? Try They sell many types of party goods in bulk!

Best Costume Award

There’s nothing wrong with a little friendly competition. Having a costume award gets the kids into the spirit of dressing up in their ghoulish best. Hand out inexpensive awards you can find on Amazon or make your own by putting together a spooky basket of goodies or a bag of treats.
