Patriotic Flip Flop Wreath

by katie

Looking for a last minute decorating or crafting idea this Memorial Day or something creative for the Fourth of July? Check out this cute wreath idea! With $4, 5 minutes and a glue gun, you’ll have yourself a festive wreath you can keep up all summer long!

If you live near a dollar store (Dollar Tree in particular). this craft can cost you under $5 to make. It’s a perfect accent to your front door or as a host/hostess gift to give at this summer’s BBQ parties!
What you will need:
  • 3 Pairs of Flip Flops
  • Glue Gun
  • Scissors
  • Twine or Ribbon

Instructions:
Start by removing any tags and place each flip flop where you would like it. Create the shape of your wreath so you get an idea of where the glue will go. This will save you time.
Begin gluing each flip flop to each other where the toe meets the heel.
Press the flip flops together to ensure the glue will stick.
After gluing all of the flip flops together and your wreath is formed, turn it over and glue the seams together at each toe/heel. This will bond the flip flops together well and make your wreath more durable.
Using the back of the flip flops where the straps come through, wrap and tie a piece of string or ribbon so you can hang it. Be sure to string it across two flip flops so it hangs better on your door.
I’ve hung my wreath on my front door and love how it looks. You can add a bow, plaque or anything else you want, but I like the simpler look for now. The best thing about this wreath is that I can keep it hanging for Memorial Day straight through until after the 4th of July and it only cost me $4! I also made one for my mom and she has it hanging on her door, too! How cool is that?
Stay in the loop!

This is a really cute idea! We're used those $ store flip flops for other things, too!
