The uber popular buffalo plaid has been a huge favorite of mine for the past couple of years, but I didn’t add it to my Christmas decor last year. I kept it simple with burlap and neutrals. This year, I wanted to make it a little bold and, well, buffalo plaid is pretty darn bold. Right?
I had the opportunity once again to work with Oriental Trading to create something fun. They never cease to amaze me with their selections and quality. They had a great deal of buffalo plaid products to choose from.
I started out with a simple table runner. I placed this on my coffee table along with the adorable Be Merry tray. This will work wonders on Christmas Eve to corral our mugs and snacks when it’s movie time! I dressed it up for now with some pine cones and small deer antlers (also from Oriental Trading by the way!).
I decided that it would be a whole heck of a lot cozier if I were to spread out my furry blanket across the couch and added a few festive pillows. The buffalo plaid pillows paired so great with my existing pillows. The only thing I would change about these pillows would be to make them a little fluffier. I have a thing about throw pillows and they aren’t as full as my others which makes them a little less comfy.
I decided that I wanted to place a banner on my tree. I picked out this awesome buffalo plaid banner for just this purpose. I didn’t realize that it was as big as it is. I thought It would be smaller. What do you think? Do you think it looks okay or should I move it somewhere else??
I received 2 table runners and thought that I could make a wreath with one. I didn’t want the whole wreath to be this print because I thought it would be too much. I decided that if I wrapped it around and tied it to one side, it would do the trick and give a nice little welcome to anyone who stopped by.
The gifts are my favorite part. I try my best to make sure that my gift wrap matches the rest of my decor. After all, the gifts for family members act as decor because they stay under the tree all month long. I received the kraft paper and gift tags from Oriental Trading and absolutely love the way they look. I purchased the buffalo check wrapping paper from my local dollar store. I think I’m in love!
