There are really only a few that I like because I’m not a big sweets person. I seriously cannot remember the last time I had a chocolate chip cookie….. 😯 Shocking, I know!
These sweet treats can easily double as a healthy snack. High-five for an attempt to stay on a healthier eating path this holiday weekend. LOL!
American Flag Cake
I love this cake because it has everything I love. It’s basically a strawberry shortcake that has blueberries and is in the shape of a flag. It is so easy to make that it can be put together in just about 10 minutes! All you need are strawberries, blueberries, whipped cream and pound cake. Whoa, is it good!
These are an awesome snack or dessert to dish out to the kids so that they aren’t super hyped off sugar all afternoon. It’s also a cool treat in the heat. There are a lot of ways that you can make your own. I have used strawberries, blueberries and banana slices for the red, white and blue look. I also suggest you scope out an Aldi if you happen to live next to one. You can easily add some extra sweetness by seeing if they have festive star-shaped marshmallows in stock. I like to put these at the top to make a wand. So cool!

Okay, I can see a strawberry trend here. I guess it must be my favorite, huh? Not only do these look so adorable, but they are light and healthy, too. While I haven’t attempted to make these myself, I have had chocolate covered strawberries before and the concept of creating these seems rather easy. A few layers of colored chocolate and some white dots on the blue are pretty much what goes into making these.
