Even though Memorial Day is over, the spirit of the USA is going strong with anticipation of the 4th of July. Many of us will be enjoying this holiday with our family and friends during cookouts and outside events. What is the one thing you have to look out for when partying outside? Cleanliness! These are the perfect solution to keeping your utensils clean and make them easy to store away after the party is over!
These containers originally stored drink mix packets that you can easily find at Aldi. I kept them for so long thinking of what I could possibly create with them and this is the perfect thing! Although you can use any container, these work well because they can easily fit plastic cutlery and utensils with the lid.
What you will need:
- Containers
- Decorative Duct Tape
- Hobby Knife
- Chalkboard Labels
Instructions:
Start by measuring your duct tape to fit around the container. The placement of the tape depends on the direction the print is going. For the stars, I placed the tape horizontally. It was very difficult to line up the stars so I didn’t pay much attention as I did to the stripes and nautical prints.

Thank you, Tayrina!
I love this idea for a summer picnic and it is smart how this can double as a centerpiece!
Yes! It is a great idea as a centerpiece!
Very nice! I decorate my home in red, white, and blue from May through July so this will be a nice addition. Thanks.
Cute idea! Thank you again for partying with us at the Thursday Favorite Things Blog Hop!

Hey this is a cool project. Fun with duct tape! Linking up from Sew Many Ways hope you stop by my blog too.
Duct tape is one of the best DIY things to use!
Such a clever idea! I always thought of saving Pringles and Crystal Light canisters for projects like these. Anything that uses decorative duct tape is a plus. Thanks for sharing on Merry Monday.
I knew there was a reason for saving them! 🙂
