DIY Linen Closet Tags and Free Printables

by The Organized Dream

Who wants to get organized? I’m sharing how I labeled my linen closet and I also have free printable tags just for you! They’re perfect for almost anything you need to organize and will add a perfect farmhouse-style touch with the classic Rae Dunn inspired font.

First off, I decided that I needed to overhaul my linen closet once and for all because no matter what I did in the past, it just wouldn’t stay organized. I started by tossing all the things we just didn’t need or use anymore. I threw out so much that it really made a difference in how everything was separated and organized!

Rustic Clothespins DIY

I knew that I wanted to use clothes pins to hold the tags on to the containers because it was not only a creative way to display the tags, but it tied into the linen closet, however, I didn’t want them to look brand new out of the package.

I wanted them to look like they were old…super old actually. I remember that my mother had some really old clothespins growing up and I loved the way they looked. She would keep them in a basket when they weren’t being used and they looked like part of our decor.

How did I do this? It’s easy! All I did was mix brown acrylic paint with some water to create a wash. I am not a big fan of using stains or paints with heavy odors and this did the trick! It took no time at all for the clothes pins to dry either so I was able to complete this project in about an hour.

Once I mixed the paint, I used a paper towel to wipe off the excess which left a light stained look. Once they dried, they had a nice rustic look to them.

I like how the clothespins turned out. I never thought about mixing acrylic paint and water to make a wash. Pinning your printable. I’m visiting from Hearth and Soul. If your are interested, I shared abstract heart art, #7. Have a nice week!

These are adorable! I love the font, and the use of clothespins is amazing. I will have to give this labeling technique a try. Thanks for sharing.
