DIY Burlap Wrapped Candle Holders

by katie
It’s finally time to start thinking about bringing out those Fall decorations and start those Fall crafts. The first one of the season for me is this simple candle holder project. I recently saw something similar online and thought that they would be a great accent in my living room.

You can purchase all of the items required to make these at the Dollar Tree which makes it an inexpensive craft as well as easy.

What you will need:
  • Burlap Ribbon
  • Contrasting Decorative Ribbon
  • Glass Candle Holders
  • Glue Gun
  • Scissors

Start by placing a thin line of glue on the glass and lightly press on the burlap. Wrap the burlap snug around the container until you get to the seam. Cut and glue. There are two ways you can put the burlap on. You can either fold it in half and glue it around the middle or use the burlap to cover the entire glass. I opted to cover it all. (Although I may change it to see how it looks another time.)
Cut your ribbon to the length you want. I like to cut a little bit more than I need so I play with it and get the bow just right and trim off what I don’t use. Make sure that the ribbon is even and place a small dot of glue on the ribbon and glue to the seam.
After tying the ribbon in a bow, place another dot of glue behind the knot to keep it in place.
Make sure that there aren’t pieces of burlap sticking up. After all, there will be candles in there!
