Customize Your Mobile Blogger Template

by katie

I have been on Blogger from the very beginning. There are so many things that I like about it…and then there’s their mobile look. It’s not my favorite set up and I didn’t like the fact that it didn’t really match my blog and didn’t show many things my blog did. That’s when I customized it.

This will involve a little bit of code editing, but nothing major so don’t get scared! Don’t forget to back up your template before you begin. Start by going to Template and selecting the settings button below your mobile preview. Select the Custom option from the list.
Once that is complete, go to Edit HTML. Select Jump To Widget at the top of the template menu and select the widget you would like to add to your mobile site from the drop down menu. It will bring you directly to the widget’s code.
Here’s an example:
I selected HTML7. This is the snippet of code for that widget.
<b:widget id=’HTML7′ locked=’false’  title=” type=’HTML’>
To make this appear, I simply add mobile=’yes’ between locked=’false’ and title=”.
Your final code should look like this:
<b:widget id=’HTML7′ locked=’false’  mobile=’yes’ title=” type=’HTML’>
Not sure how to find out which widget is which from the list? Simply go to Layout and select the widget you want. Scroll right in the URL box at the top and the name of the widget will appear at the end. You can see what I mean below.
Do these steps for each widget you want to appear on your mobile site. You can also do this for Adsense ads as well!

BTW, your Pinterest button is linked to a 404 not found page. No need to publish. This is just an FYI.
