Cinnamon Ornament Dough Recipe

by The Organized Dream

I love the smell of cinnamon during the holidays. It’s probably one of my favorites in general. Today, I want to share with you a great and simple recipe on how to make cinnamon scented clay ornaments.

This recipe can be used for a few different things. Create them to decorate your tree and add a beautiful fragrance to it, add to gifts as a gift tag or decoration or have the kids create them for the family and their friends as a little gift from them.

What you will need:

  • 1 Cup Flour
  • 1/2 Cup Salt
  • 1/2 Cup Cinnamon
  • 3/4 Cup Very Warm Water
  • Christmas Cookie Cutters

What to do:

Combine all ingredients and mix well. Knead with clean, dry hands. If sticky, dust with flour. After a few minutes, you’ll have ornament dough. Roll dough on parchment paper. Cut out your desired shapes, use a straw to put circle in the top and leave out on level surface. They usually take 24 hours to dry. This depends on how thick you roll your dough. I recommend 1/2 inch because they can be very fragile when too thin.

Ultimately, after they were dry, I thought to use them as both a gift tag and a little keepsake. I wrapped each one in plain, clear cello bags and decorated them with curling ribbon and glittery stickers.
