2018 Carpe Diem Posh Planner Review

by The Organized Dream

This year I’m taking my planning a little more serious than years prior. I’ve always done it for a bit and then stopped. One thing that I realized was that I was a lot more productive and noticed a great difference in my blog and everyday life. Here’s my review of my first impression on the Ivory Posh Carpe Diem A5 planner.

Why I Chose the Posh

First off, I decided that I ultimately needed something that I could customize at will. I wanted to be able to switch things up if I needed to simplify things or add things to my routine. The A5 seemed like the perfect choice because it was large enough for me to comfortably work in and gave me the options to personalize dividers and add (or remove) certain features that didn’t work for me. I think this had a lot to do with the fact that my planning wasn’t so successful in the past.

I chose the ivory color because it was neutral. This will give me the freedom to change the style and colors of the inserts and dividers if I get bored looking at them. I figured this is a huge possibility because I get bored so easily. ?

I really like these dividers. They feature pretty graphics, nice color combos and quotes that aren’t completely killed by popularity. You know, you can only see so much live, laugh, love. Am I right?

How I’m Using It

I was a little hesitant to use the horizontal weekly pages because I wasn’t sure how I would be able separate my home and my blog. I ultimately decided that a thin washi down the middle will easily solve this problem. I have plenty of room on either side to write down what my to-do’s are and I use the notes section to keep track of my blog stats, social media growth and earnings on a weekly basis. I have yet to fully fill out next week, but this is what I’m doing so far.

One thing I really love about the whole planner process is the decorating. I’ve already made purchases to jazz this baby up from Etsy. Sadly, I’m still waiting for them to come in the mail, but I’ve utilized stamps and labels which have worked out perfectly so far.

The Bottom Line

What do I love?

1. There are a bunch of storage pockets on the inside. I am not using them much right now, but I just purchased the planner so it will take me a little longer to get it the way I want it.

2. The horizontal weekly pages allow me to plan my personal life and my business life separately on the same page with plenty of room to add a little decoration.

What do I not like?

Not everything is always going to be sunshine and puppy dogs, right? I do like this planner, but there are a couple things that I would change.

1. I wish the rings were wider so I could add more inserts. I feel like the rings can barely hold the inserts it came with.

2. The darn dividers have a design on one side and half of the monthly calendar on the other! I am not a fan of this simply because it doesn’t allow me to change them out unless I replace the monthly calendar page, too and I like the setup.

And there you have it. What planner are you using for 2018? Have any awesome Etsy shop or other resources to share? Drop me a comment below!
